The conference, founded by architect Andrija Rusan and his office “Arhitekst”, was organized for the ninth year in a row. "Days of Oris" is a two-day series of lectures by eminent architects who present their works, creative approaches and concepts, exploring the topic of construction through different creative approaches. Visitors attended lectures by some of the most significant architects of our time, providing insight into a wide range of recent architectural research and practice.
The two-day event, one of the biggest of its kind, gathered more than 2500 visitors and had guest lecturers from all over the world.
The Norwegian “block” of the conference was opened by Ellen S. De Vibe, the head of Department for Planning and Construction of the city of Oslo. De Vibe presented the Fjord City, the 20 year plan of development that shows the systematic planning of Oslo’s landscape and costal area, reconnecting the city with the sea. De Vibe’s presentation showed one of Europe’s most exciting waterfront development projects with the goal of making Oslo an innovative and vibrant Scandinavian capital.
Børre Skodvin from Jensen & Skodvin presented the studio’s innovative art in harmony with Norwegian nature. Skodvin came to Zagreb together with the exhibition “Processed Geometries” witch was opened Friday 23 of October as a prelude to the Days of Oris. The exhibition and his lecture showed highlights from Jensen & Skodvin architectures with works like Mortensrud Church and Tautra Mariakloster (convent).
Tarald Lundevall from Snøhetta presented the work of The Opera House in Oslo, a superstar of Norwegian architecture. This international known, monumental building has given new life to the Norwegian capital. Being declared the most beautiful building in the world several times it clearly represents the beginning of development in the Fjord City, transforming Oslo’s vast docklands into places where people can live, work and create.
