Official opening of the Civil Centre Hrvatska Kostajnica

Last updated: 20/07/2010 // Representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Zagreb attended on 9 July 2010 the official opening of the Civil Centre in Hrvatska Kostajnica. The centre was initiated by the Civil Rights Project Sisak and is providing citizens in Hrvatska Kostajnica with legal and psychological aid. In addition to regular activities the center has also implemented several project activities such as forum for women’s rights, English course and workshops on painting on silk and glass.

Around 50 people were present at the opening ceremony, including a representative of the Delegation of the European Union in Zagreb, Mr. Erol Akdag and representatives from the Norwegian Embassy in Zagreb Mr. Jens Erik Grondahl and Ms. Vilde Langemyr. The Norwegian Embassy in Zagreb is together with the European Union one of the main project donors.

Also, the Mayor of Hrvatska Kostajnica, Mr. Tomislav Paunović, was present and expressed his support to the Centre. The heads of the municipalities in Dvor and Donji Kukuruzari also attended the opening, as well as other partners, colleagues and citizens. The official opening started with a presentation of the center and its activities and was followed by short speeches from different contributors. The event ended with a reception.
